How does your garden grow?

Buying a house can be stressful, but we were lucky enough to get an already-established garden. There’s something magical about having a lush and bountiful garden. I love the lavender bushes, Day Lillies, carpet roses, and blue spruce trees. It not only looks stunning but also supplies pollen for bees.
When we first visited the place, we were blown away by the garden and the neighborhood landscaping. It was like a dream come true. The lavender bushes were in full bloom filling the garden with a beautiful scent. These bushes attract bees, contributing to the flowering plants in the area. We also observed Day Lillies, carpet roses, and various trees, including blue spruce, that added character to the garden. The blue spruce trees provided much-needed privacy by lining the backyard. They have grown and filled out so much that we now have complete privacy.

However, there is one tree we cannot understand, the weeping Alaskan Cedar. In our opinion, it was the ugliest tree out there. We cannot embrace its look. But we soon realized that we didn’t have to because the garden was already filled with beautiful trees and flowers to admire.

Recently, we decided to add more to the garden by planting hydrangeas. We asked the gardener to plant three white bushes in the front yard. We anticipated flowers would bloom by next summer because it was already June. We were wrong. To our surprise, the bushes blossomed quickly in less than a month. This garden had the perfect soil, and it was full of nutrients. The new hydrangea plants look stunning, adding to the garden’s overall beauty.
Another thing that surprised us was that this area was once farmland, and we couldn’t believe how the soil remained so rich. It allows plants to flourish, even without any knowledge of gardening. The garden is self-sufficient, and we are fortunate to enjoy it without working too hard.

Yesterday was the 4th of July, and we had a quiet day at home. Although we missed out on the traditional celebrations we still enjoyed our day. The weather was much more bearable this year. We took this opportunity to relax and enjoy the day with each other. We spent most of our time outside, and it was so peaceful. We bbqed hotdogs and brats for lunch. With just the two of us, we kept it simple.

Our neighborhood has epic fireworks displays, and we have front-row seating for about five different displays. The main show goes on for over 1 1/2 hours. Like everything in our garden, the trees in the neighborhood have grown, and they are starting to partially obscure the main show. Maybe next year we will go to the large pond to watch the show with an unobstructed view.
We found that the calm and peacefulness of our surroundings was perfect for us. The show was spectacular and it lit up the entire neighborhood.
As we watched the fireworks, we realized that we had everything we needed right here at home.
